HISTORY
This 400-year-old junk fair, held on the 15th and 16th of January and December every year in Setagaya, is somewhat like a Japanese-style flea market and is actually an intangible cultural treasure. The fair is called gjunk (or rag)h since it started out with second-hand clothing, tools and agricultural products, but now with antiques (some precious) and commodities, the area centering around a former feudal lordfs house is packed with more than 700 stalls and visitors.
